On February 15, 2021, the idea of establishing the COGIC Women’s Book Club Training Services Division was proposed to a group of team members by Dr. Sheary Johnson. Dr. Johnson saw a growing need to offer book writing and publishing workshops to members of the COGIC Women’s Book Club at affordable costs. After consulting with her team, Dr. Johnson presented the idea to Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis, the COGIC Supervisor of Women, for approval. The Training Services Division of the COGIC Women’s Book Club was approved by Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis on March 3, 2021. On March 9, 2021, the first workshop was announced at an introductory rate, and the “Publishing Your Manuscript” workshop was offered on March 20, 2021. The Training Services Division is now the third growing component of the COGIC Women’s Book Club, following the Reader’s and Author’s Forums.
